TIN Check China

In China the TIN can be obtained from ID number card, Passport Number or Soldier card for individuals. For Entities the TIN corresponds to the Uniform Social Credit Code (USCC).
To validate a tax identification number (TIN) from China, the TIN must be placed on top of it, which must obey the following format:


For Individuals (TIN / ID Number / Passport Number / Soldier Card)

On the ID Number the TIN assumes the following format:
• ANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNA – Total of 18 digits

On the Passport Card the TIN assumes the following format:
• XNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNA– Total of 18 digits

On the case of Soldier Card the TIN assumes:
• JNNNNNNNNNNNNNN – Total of 15 digits

N identifies that it must be a numeric digit.
A identifies an alphanumeric digit (letter or number).
J identifies that must be used the character “J”.
X identifies that can be used one of this characters “L”, “C”, “W”, “H”, “M” or “T”.


For Entities (TIN / USCC)

The old TIN (before year 2015) consists of 15 digits
• NNNNNNNNNNNNNNN

The new TIN consists of 8 digits and 10 alphanumeric digits (18 in Total) with the following format:
• NNNNNNNNAAAAAAAAAA

N identifies that it must be a numeric digit.
A identifies an alphanumeric digit (letter or number).

After validation, additional information on the TIN introduced will be made available
